The official language of the Netherlands is Dutch, which is spoken by the majority of the population. However, the country is known for its multilingualism, with many people also speaking English, German, and other European languages. The Frisian language is also recognized as an official language in the province of Friesland.

The Netherlands is a secular country, with no official state religion. However, the majority of the population identifies as Christian, with Protestantism and Catholicism being the most common denominations. There is also a significant Muslim population in the country, as well as smaller communities of Jews, Buddhists, and Hindus.
